Take-aways from the February Forecast

Continuing state budget deficits show that Minnesota has not found a sustainable way to meet the state’s needs and to fund our priorities. That’s according to our new analysis, Minnesota Economy Improving, but Deficits Continue: A Look at the February 2013 Economic Forecast.

The February 2013 Economic Forecast, prepared by Minnesota Management and Budget, sets the budget parameters for the 2013 Legislative Session.

Our issue brief discusses the forecast’s findings that Minnesota’s financial picture is improving, but the state continues to face deficits. We call on policymakers to put the state on a sustainable track and invest in the building blocks of a strong economic future.
