It's not over…until it's over?

This weekend was a flurry of activity at the Capitol…including a finished tax bill, a finalized budget bill and a separate education bill. The House and Senate expect to pass these bills pronto. However, it looks as if they all await a gubernatorial veto.

On the budget bill…on Sunday evening they made some minor changes, but I believe our previous summaries on this blog still stand true. One difference, most K-12 education financial provisions were pulled out and moved to a separate education bill (HF 6).

For a better understanding of the current impasse at the Legislature, check out Rachel Stassen-Berger’s blogs from yesterday evening. She has posted the letters that went back and forth between the Governor and the Legislature on Sunday.

We’ll keep adding more details as our staff recovers from a sleepless weekend.
